Having an engagement session provides you with the perfect opportunity to get to know your photographer in a fun, stress-free environment. It also helps you as a couple get more comfortable with being in front of the camera.

Engagement sessions are meant to be fun, relaxed and playful so you and your partner get a chance to have your photos taken without the pressure of a timeline and expectations. You can explore poses, be silly, and share lots of laughs while you get a feel for how your photographer works.

As a couple you should also use the engagement session to share any posing ideas with your photographer. This builds mutual trust and allows your photographer to capture more natural expressions that will in turn give you more beautiful images.

 

After all your photographer will be with you for the entirety of your wedding day therefore building a friendship ahead of time will  Allow you to truly relax on your big day and knows that your photographer has got you covered. Another important reason why you should have an engagement session is because you’ I most likely use your engagement photos for your save the date cards which are sent as a rule of thumb at least 6 months before the wedding. Followed by your formal invitations about 8 weeks before the wedding.
